KPS regularly protect international visitors and businessmen in high risk situations.

Commercial protection

 

This service is a fast expanding market in South Africa. KPS safeguards businessmen and their staff from violent crimes such as armed robbery and hijackings. We do this by placing a fully trained KPS employee on the premises during the identified high risk times. The safety officer physically protects the lives of the staff while gathering detailed intelligence on suspect criminal activity in the area. Clients receive a monthly security report detailing all security related incidents and providing descriptions of suspicious vehicles and persons. This empowers staff to identify possible threats early. The security operators have also been asked to open numerous locks on vehicles retrieving stolen goods and apprehending shoplifters.

 

Guarding

 

KPS provides an efficient guarding service. The guards can be armed or unarmed according to the specific situation, their purpose mainly is the early detection and recognition of a threat to property, their main function is to present crimes such as shoplifting, internal theft, burglaries, perimeter breaches and vehicle theft.

 

KPS has also successfully guarded properties that have been repossessed by the court, factories, mines and commercial properties.

Again one of the most appreciated features of this division is the monthly security reports. In these reports suspicious vehicles, persons and occupants are noted and cross referenced. In the past we have utilised these reports to identify potential robbers, car thieves and other criminal elements.

 

Cash In Transit / Asset Protection

 

Businessmen and couriers depositing large amounts of cash / transporting valuable goods are often protected by KPS. As we do not use marked vehicles, we do not present an easily identifiable target to criminals.

Control Room

 

Knights Protection Service has a fully functional control room which operates 24/7/365.

 

The control room operators have a half hourly role call with every site as well as monitor the patrol clocking points of each site.

 

The vehicle escorts are monitored via the vehicle tracking system linked to the control room’s computer and can be generated onto a big screen TV for easy monitoring.

 

Detailed logs are kept by the control room which are reviewed daily by the manager.

 

Guard Monitoring System

 

We implement guard monitoring systems on our sites to ensure that at various times throughout the shift the perimeter and certain key points are patrolled and monitored.

 

The monitoring system works via satellite in real-time linked to our control room.  The control room monitors the patrols 24/7 to ensure that the guards are effectively patrolling the designated areas.

 

Should the guard miss a clocking point or delay the actioning of a clocking point, an alarm signals in the control room and an SMS is sent to our Ops Manager and site manager notifying them that a point has been missed.

 

Should there be a problem on site, the guard activates the panic button which immediately alerts the control room and the various managers.
